Rachel Sayko Adams
Rachel Sayko Adams, PhD, MPH is a health services researcher with the Partnered Evidence-based Policy Resource Center at the VA Boston Healthcare System. She is a Research Associate Professor in the Department of Health Law, Policy, and Management at the Boston University School of Public Health. Dr. Adams has expertise conducting longitudinal studies with post-9/11 military members and Veterans that integrate data from the Military Health System and the Veterans Health Administration. She has expertise in substance use, disparities in treatment, and morbidity and mortality outcomes in high-risk populations (e.g., military/Veterans, persons with traumatic brain injury or other disabilities). Dr. Adams has led studies from various NIH institutes (NIMH, NIAAA, NIDA, and NCCIH), NIDILRR, and Uniformed Services University at DoD. Dr. Adams also has an appointment as a health services researcher with the VHA Rocky Mountain Mental Illness Research Education and Clinical Center for Veteran Suicide Prevention in Colorado. She is a Multiple Principal Investigator (Brenner/Adams) on an R01 from the National Institute of Mental Health and the Office of the Director at NIH which is integrating data from the Department of Defense and Veterans Health Administration to enhance suicide prevention efforts for military members returning from deployments.Contact:
